March 30, 2004More on oil, more on foodFor some reason, there is a large body of people who think there is no higher standard of selflessness and moral integrity than that held by the upstanding humanitarians that run the UN. Our dopey, deluded PM is one of those people. Apparently, the utopian vision that the UN can solve all of the world's problems by having playboy diplomats from various kleptocratic regimes run up expenses at New York restaurants and occasionally get together to condemn Israel prevents them from seeing how much of a failure the organization really is. Hopefully the developing Oil for Food Scandal will allow a bit of the light of reason to penetrate their rose-coloured glasses. There have been quite a few developments lately, but I've been too busy marching my topplers around to John Philip Sousa to write about it. Luckily Debbye has been up to the task and has thorough coverage of what's new. Go read it. You'll be shocked. Posted by Bruce Gottfred at March 30, 2004 08:21 AMComments
Don't hold your breath waiting for the UN lovers to recognize its faults. It won't happen. To many people motives are all that matter. Since the UN has lofty and noble goals it doesn't really matter how much the place stinks. Posted by: Dana at March 30, 2004 04:48 PM |
